PreK On My Way: Language

Research shows that purposeful conversation can help children develop the vocabulary and oral language skills they need to thrive as readers. But structuring conversations for maximum impact is no easy task. That’s why we partnered with Dr. Tricia A. Zucker to create PreK On My Way: Language— an evidence- based read-aloud language program built on Dr. Zucker’s research-proven Developing Talkers model.

Available in English and Spanish

English learner supports are integrated throughout the program.

Outcomes ⊲ Spark conversation and build knowledge with a varied collection of read-aloud books. ⊲ Develop language skills with an interactive read- aloud where teachers engage students in rich book-based discussions. ⊲ Support oral language development with serve- and-return interactions and multiple-turn conversations. ⊲ Introduce and reteach high-value vocabulary through explicit routines with illustrative photos and total physical response.
