Sewing machines for Domiongo, DR Congo
The provision of sewing machines has been a successful initiative that is being used in a number of communities in DR Congo and North Cameroon. The girls acquire a useful skill which they use to make garments that are worn and sold in the market. This provides an income and lifeline to the girls’ families. The school in Domiongo had just 3 sewing machines that were used by 150 girls, another 30 sewing machines have now been purchased so each girl gets practical experience.
Provision of Laptops, Domiongo
Advancement of education is one element of SJAA’s Mission Statement . The provision of 15 laptops was approved when the school confirmed that it had the necessary security controls in place.
Water tanks, Ilebo, DR Congo
The water tanks had rusted over the years and were unusable. Water had to be transported in small quantities sufficient only for immediate needs.
New cisterns in transit will resolve this situation
