Supplied by C&F Quadrant Ltd, AIC’s NESTA range of floor-standing condensing boilers was selected for a recent project at Hazlewood College in Newtownabbey. Available in four output options ranging from 280kW to 840kW, NESTA offers extremely compact dimensions, high thermal efficiency, durability, corrosion resistance and can also be installed in cascade. The range is ideally suited for installations in schools, hospitals, offices, hotels, leisure centres, care homes or any applications where plant room space is at a premium. NESTA floor-standing condensing boilers were installed at Hazlewood College by contractor Irwin M&E as part of a full refurbishment of its natural gas boiler house.

Works included delivering the new boiler plant and associated mechanical equipment, upgrading gas pipework, flues and control systems to meet current standards and providing commissioning, testing and handover documentation. The contractor coordinated the installation to minimise disruption to site operations. Irwin M&E also worked closely alongside the supplier throughout the design, procurement and installation stages, with C&F Quadrant providing technical guidance and responsive support when required. Lead times and deliveries were effectively managed to meet project deadlines, with the collaborative approach contributing to a smooth installation and successful project outcome.

Colin James, Project Manager, Irwin M&E, says, “The equipment was selected for high efficiency, reliability and compliance with current gas safety regulations. “Meeting the heating demand and operational requirements of the facility, the selected systems offered improved energy efficiency and reduced emissions as well as ease of maintenance and long- term operational value.” The installation was carefully phased to maintain continuity of heating where required, with challenges including working within an existing plant room and integrating new equipment with legacy systems. “These challenges were overcome through detailed planning, close coordination and on-site technical adjustments,” says Colin. “All works were completed safely and in line with the project programme.”
