PROJECT UPDATES

UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REPLACEMENT – CITY YARD‌

The City will remove and replace the aging underground storage tanks at the City Corporation Yard to ensure continued safe and compliant fuel storage. This $1.1 million project, funded by Measure U, is anticipated to begin in Winter 2025.

OLD TOWN STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS‌‌

This transformative $10 million project will enhance the Placentia Old Town area with improved pedestrian accessibility and safety, new landscaping, lighting, signage, and roadway rehabilitation. Construction is anticipated to begin in Fall 2026, funded through the Placentia Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District (EIFD).

TYNES GYM ROOF REPLACEMENT‌‌

The City is currently replacing the roof at Tynes Gym to maintain a safe and functional recreation facility for the community. This $194,411 project is funded through Park Impact Fees and is currently under construction.

POWELL BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS‌‌

The Powell Building will receive an upgraded HVAC system and new energy-efficient windows to improve comfort and sustainability. Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring 2026. The $454,878 project is funded by the Prop 68 Grant, Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG), and Measure U.
