Placentia Prepares to Celebrate 100 Years!
To make this celebration truly unforgettable, the City has launched a Centennial Sponsorship Program. Local businesses, organizations, and individuals are invited to join as sponsors and be part of this historic year. A variety of sponsorship levels are available, each offering unique benefits, including event recognition, promotional opportunities, and inclusion in Centennial marketing materials. Sponsors will not only support community events but also help ensure this milestone year reflects the pride and unity that make Placentia special. As we look ahead to 2026, we would like to take a moment to honor the generations that built the foundation of the Placentia we know today, families, businesses, and civic leaders whose dedication and vision shaped our vibrant, diverse community. Together, we will celebrate a century of progress, partnership, and hometown pride. In 2026, the City of Placentia will proudly celebrate its Centennial Anniversary, marking 100 years since the City’s incorporation in 1926. This once-in-a-lifetime milestone offers our community the opportunity to reflect on Placentia’s rich history, honor those who helped shape it, and look forward to the next century of progress. Throughout 2026, the City will host a year-long series of Centennial-themed events designed to engage residents, businesses, and visitors alike. Festivities will officially kick off with the Mayor’s Centennial Gala on January 24, 2026, followed by a 5K Run on May 2, 2026, and a grand Birthday Celebration and Tree Lighting on December 5, 2026, which will bookend the year with community spirit and fun for all ages. The City will also continue to host its regularly scheduled events, including community favorites such as the Heritage Festival, Concerts in the Park, Movies in the Park, and more, each enhanced with special Centennial features and historical tributes. Behind the scenes, the Centennial Steering Committee, comprised of community volunteers, civic leaders, and City staff, has been diligently planning every detail, from historic exhibits and commemorative merchandise to business partnerships and legacy projects that will leave a lasting impact on our community.
