Converters have found that combining the ben- efits of these products provide the maximum return on investment through improved efficiency, reduced costs, improved overall quality, and a greener footprint. “In 2024 AutoDryer Control became a standard feature on all new ColorDry XL3000 installations. Drying is a criti- cal step in the high-speed production of both high-graphic direct print on corrugated and typical brown box. Howev- er, if not properly managed and optimized, it can be an energy-intensive process that cuts into the profitability of the operation. In traditional systems, operators must man- ually set and continually monitor and adjust dryer power to maintain optimal drying conditions. This not only increases the potential for human error and inconsistent drying, but typically leads to higher than necessary power settings. This results in wasted power leading to larger than neces- sary energy bills and carbon footprint. “Our AutoDryer Control automates the drying process by continuously monitoring and adjusting power usage to maintain a consistent drying surface temperature. If the machine speed changes, or the temperature of the sheets entering the press changes, the system adapts to ensure that the drying process is optimized and remains consis- tent throughout the production run. Operator oversight is therefore eliminated allowing them to focus on other pro- duction critical tasks. The benefits of AutoDryer Control are significant. It reduces energy consumption by ensur- ing that the dryer operates at peak efficiency, avoiding over-drying or under-drying of print. This lowers operating costs and reduces the environmental impact of the pro- duction process, reduces manpower requirements and provide more consistent product quality. “InKomand is another game-changing JB Machinery product that contributes significantly to maximizing pro- ductivity and reducing operator intervention. This ad- vanced system uses learned algorithms to remove the human factor and close the loop between detection and action. Manual cleaning of printing plates is time-consuming and requires significant human labor.
