quences that come from overexertion, but we still push ourselves to the brink anyway. Growing up as a competitive athlete, I learned all about hard work and focus from a young age. You show up, you practice long hours into the night after your peers have all gone home, you fall and get back up over and over again and you most definite - ly never give up. I often relate sports to business for these exact reasons and having that athlete men- tality has served me well as I’ve scaled my business internationally but whether you’re an athlete or a businessperson, one thing remains the same. You need to take care of yourself first and foremost. As an athlete, if you are injured or tired or not putting the right food into your body, you will not perform to your best ability. That’s why athletes know how important rest days are. That’s why the highest-performing athletes treat their bodies like a temple and focus on mind over matter. They are some of the hardest-working people on the planet but the hard work goes beyond just grinding on the ice or hustling on the court.
