What you can expect from your home Fire suppression systems have been designed and installed in accordance with all applicable building, plumbing and fire and life safety codes. What your home can expect from you Your fire suppression pipes are full of water so it is very important that you do not turn your heat off during cold weather. Frozen sprinkler pipes will crack. You should not install ceiling fans or other objects which might affect the spray pattern of the head without first contacting a qualified fire protection professional. Painting the sprinkler heads or hanging anything from them will violate the building code and could result in improper operation of the system.
