Softball Tournament Returns This Summer BATTER UP!

The Averitt Family Softball Tournament is one of our important team traditions, and we’re excited to announce that it’s returning once again this year!

This year’s event is scheduled for Aug. 13 in Nashville, and as always, it will be a free, family-friendly event with plenty of food, fun and showstopping action on the diamond. The Averitt Family Softball Tournament is also a great opportunity to bring awareness to Averitt Cares for Kids and our special relationship with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. For more information about the Averitt Family Softball Tournament, contact AMOS ROGAN at arogan@averittexpress.com . After a two-year pause on the event while we navigated the effects of COVID-19, we can’t wait to catch up with teammates from throughout our network as we build on our family culture. If you’ve never attended the Averitt Family Softball Tournament, we hope you’ll make plans to do so this year! T m

One of the hallmarks of our team is consistent growth and stability. One of the biggest reasons for that is the way we promote from within, and our new Region 1 vice president and Knoxville service center director are two more examples of that commitment. And 33-year associate JEFF PENLEY , who most recently served as a transportation specialist, is moving into Bryan’s former role. Bryan came to Averitt in 1985 as a transportation specialist in Chattanooga. After becoming our Chattanooga service center director in 1987, he moved to Knoxville for the same role in 1988. Bryan is proud to be part of a culture that builds for the future from within. “When we promote someone from within, we know what we’re getting,” Bryan says. “We know that associate understands our
