HOW YOU CAN BE BLEST God has prom ised to bless th ose who bless Israel , (Gen. 12:1, 3 ). That promise has never been revoked. It is for you today. Claim it now by sharing with us in our ministry of soul-winning evangelism and material relief to Jews in Israel, Europe, Africa, India, Mexico and our own land. Jews are more ready to hear our Gospel today than at any time in their history. Our Board is reach ing out into wider fields of service to meet this tremendou§ challenge.

reading is particularly appropriate for a certain member.) Make no secret of the fact that you yourself follow the Scripture readings from day to day, and do your best to en courage the member to do likewise. At times it may be wiser for you to read from the text of the lesson for the Sunday before or after your visit. When a special need exists, do not hesitate to choose the Scripture passage yourself that will fit the situation. Reading of the Word will lead naturally to prayer. If you are a new visitor, you may feel quite un qualified to pray with anyone, but once you bring yourself to try it, you will find blessing in the exper ience. Don’t be concerned about the wording of your prayer; the only important qualification is that it be sincere and from your heart, an intimate talk with the Lord. Subjects for prayer would in clude immediate needs of the mem ber and his friends or loved ones, other members of the department, the pastor and missionaries of the church, other church or Sunday school interests, and any other requests brought up by the mem ber. In p ra y in g , n e v e r forget thanksgiving: praise God for His love, for the Saviour and for the spiritual blessings that He has given every believer (Eph. 1:3). Bible reading and prayer will be the climax of your visit. As a rule, you should leave shortly thereafter. The total time of the visit may run from five minutes to an hour, de pending on the member and the circumstances, and in cases where a visit must be abridged, use your best judgment on how to spend the time to best advantage. Cultivate a sense of when it is time to leave, remembering that if you stay too long you may bore the member, and that if you leave too soon you may offend him. “ . . . I was sick, and ye visited me . . .” said Jesus (Matt. 25:36, 40), adding, . . Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” And who knows but that faithful home department visitors will one day receive just such words of commendation.
