Topps Chrome’s 1997-98 is the second year release of this immensely popular set. Each card in the 220 base set has a corresponding refractor parallel at an insert rate of 1:12. While Topps Chrome first year was retail only, Topps offered the 1997-98 set in both hobby and retail. Shooting Stars, Destiny and Season’s Best are the top inserts of this product. Offered here is the Bulls NBA Champions refractor commemorating the team’s 1997 NBA Championship. In the 1990s, it became a Chicago tradition to meet at the Petrillo Band shell in Grant Park to celebrate another Bulls title. The image on this card captures the rally held on June 16, 1997 to celebrate the team’s victory over the Utah Jazz. This copy is graded PSA 10. Leaf’s Fractal Matrix parallel set might very well be some of the most confusing cards for collectors. To commemorate its 50th anniversary, Leaf offered these parallels for collectors. The 200 base card set has corresponding randomly inserted die cut and regular parallel cards. Bronze, Silver, and Gold axis cards had either an etched or foil surface. There were also “X”, “Y” and “Z” etched patterns on these cards. The Diamond Axis is numbered to 50 and has a diamond pattern printed on the blue foil of the card, indicating it’s “diamond” subset variation. Presented here is a copy of the Ken Griffey Jr. Diamond Axis parallel, numbered to 50 and graded PSA 8.
