3.2.2 Slope-Intercept Form (continued) Example 2 Write Linear Equations in Slope-Intercept Form If a line has slope m and y -intercept b , then the line can be described by the equation y = mx + b , which is called the slope-intercept form of a linear equation. To write the equation of a line in slope-intercept form, substitute the values of m and b into y = mx + b , as demonstrated by Prof. Burger in Example 2.
