September 2023 TPT Member Magazine

A NOTE FROM SYLVIA September is a month of transition. Summer fades into fall. Children return to school. And we shift from tending the garden to preserving its bounties. Transition is also taking place at TPT this month. We have made a major investment to update broadcast and customer service technology so that we can better serve viewers and members and fulfill our mission for generations to come. This month, we are updating our customer service tools to provide a more streamlined and personalized experience to our members and viewers. We appreciate your patience with delayed response times from our member services team as we make the transition. You can learn more about our technology updates and digital transformation on page 10. September is also a month of celebration at TPT. From September 15 to October 15, Hispanic Heritage Month uplifts the contributions, diverse cultures, and histories of Hispanic Americans. We have a line-up of programming in recognition of the month highlighted on page 9. We are also celebrating the premiere of season two of America Outdoors with Baratunde Thurston on September 6, on TPT 2 at 7 p.m. Produced by TPT for national distribution by PBS, the second season of the acclaimed series features a six-episode journey across the United States — showcasing Utah, Maine, Arkansas, New Mexico, Oregon, and the Suwannee River in Georgia and Florida — to discover how nature shapes the way Americans work, play, and interact with the outdoors. This season of America Outdoors digs into the growing evidence that links people’s overall health and wellness with being outside, explores new ways of making the outdoors accessible to everyone, and demonstrates how Americans are adapting their time outdoors to our changing climate. TPT is committed to innovation and excellence in everything we do. Our commitment ensures that we continue to serve the needs of our community. We could not do this work without your support. Thank you.
