Born in Salem, Oregon, Myra Wiggins found early success as both a painter and photographer. She studied at the Art Students League in New York with William Merritt Chase from 1891– 1894 and was invited by Alfred Stieglitz to become a member of the Photo- Secession in 1903. She later moved to Toppenish, Washington with her family in 1907, and settled permanently in Seattle in 1932. The White Vase painting and its vintage Newcomb-Macklin frame have both been fully restored. Our gallery recently acquired the Myra Wiggins estate.
