What I did: I assisted the various fiscal departments within in Aspirus. I assisted with clinical departments, supply chain and the River View and Divine Savior business units. I assisted with going over the balance sheet of various companies within Aspirus. I also assisted with helping map the new Acension clinics to Aspirus clinics for production hours per visit and variances. I assisted with the Medicare and Medicaid bad debt and reimbursement side of things with mapping trial balances. During my time with the southern business units, I learned month end closing procedures and how to post the adjusting journal entries. I also got various experience in supply chain when reaching out to vendors on purchase orders. What I liked: I liked getting to learn how bad debt from Medicare and Medicaid effects the accounting department & the process of reimbursements. I enjoyed getting to see the difference between the corporate accounting department at Wausau and the business units in River View and Divine Savior. I also enjoyed learning the process of the supply chain department with how contracts are formed, how purchases orders work and learning about the various vendors. Future Dream Job: I am unsure, but I currently hope to obtain my CPA after graduation.
