TITLE Intern
What I did: During my internship I got to learn what it’s like to be a manager and the different things that they have to deal with. I had to put together different merchandising techniques and think of different ideas on how they can sell more. I have also been able to put forth lots of ideas on a marketing plan for them and how they could implement those ideas. I’ve been put in charge of some team members to delegate tasks to. I have had to lead a department meeting and for that I got a vendor to give us more product knowledge and then discussed need to know information. I have had weekly meetings with the general manager to check in and discuss what I have been doing each week. I was also put in charge of the department for a couple hours for a weekend because my manager was out sick and I was the only one there at the beginning of my internship. What I liked: My favorite thing was being able to meet new people and make more connections with people I had never met before. I also liked the experience of being able to learn how to become a better leader and show my knowledge about the business world. I have also been able to express to them how to keep the leader mentality instead of boss mentality. I also enjoy always being able to learn something new. Future Dream Job: My dream job is probably to one day own my own business. All the experience I have gained along the way and will still be learning as time goes on has been prepping me with need to knows.
