MAJOR Business Administration HOMETOWN Menomonee Falls, Wis. ORGANIZATION W & E Radtke Germantown, Wis. TITLE Business Admin Intern/ Customer Service

What I did: I performed a range of duties during my internship. I first began by entering information into various Excel spreadsheets, including plant prep logs, planting line logs, moving crew logs, and production logs for setting down. These logs are all intended to record where the plants are placed and other details, as well as the plants’ average cost per pot. After that, I began investigating and documenting various benchmarking strategies they could use to boost productivity as well as related subjects like SWOT and MOST analyses. I also did some research on implementation strategies for those benchmark adjustments; however, I’ve been adding to it since and revising it. Additionally, at this time, I began to answer the phone and do my best to assist clients with any questions they had. However, due to my limited expertise, I wasn’t always able to do so. Along with that, I started to take over the phone orders, enter them into the system they use, give customers and drivers their invoices for orders, and print all the paperwork needed for the crews to pull the orders. What I liked: I truly loved learning the procedures needed to set orders up for pickup and everything else required to keep this plant nursery running smoothly. Additionally, I enjoy the atmosphere in the nursery and workplace as a whole. The office can occasionally be chaotic depending on the time of day, but when it’s not, it has a nice atmosphere because everyone there makes jokes and assists one another. They’ve already explained to me the advantages of having another employee in the office taking orders and taking phone calls. Future Dream Job: I don’t have a certain ideal job in mind, but I would like to work as a manager instead. A company that isn’t a major franchise like a fast food restaurant is what I want to work for; I don’t want to work at the conventional places of employment that you see everywhere. I wish to collaborate with others and take part in more crucial corporate choices. One of my high school friends and I have an ambition to open a bridal business together because she plans to study fashion and design at Mount Mary University. We believed that since I am now pursuing a degree in business administration, we might run a great and lucrative firm together.
