Editorial (cont. from page 7) As Christians, we have news for these men of science. Our “ prospect of immortality” is based upon a far more solid foundation in fact than the hope some day of freezing an individual before he dies. Our Lord Jesus Christ declared unequivocally, “ He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live and who soever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.” Of course the term death, as used in these verses, means separation from God. The unbeliever is separated from God in this life and if he dies in his unbelief, he will be eternally separated from Him. How thankful we are that though we were dead in trespasses and sins, the time came when we who are Christians accepted Jesus Christ as our own personal Saviour and there by passed from death to life, from sin to salvation, from the road lead ing to eternal separation from God, which is hell, to the path leading to the eternal, perfect presence and fel lowship with God, which is heaven. The Scripture is filled with blessed promises for thoe who put their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, which pertain to this life, and also precious promises which pertain to the immortal life which is yet to be. The press release on the above- mentioned book states, “ Besides be ing definitely feasible, the freezer- centered society is highly desirable and in any case nearly inevitable.” One fails to see where any such “ freezer-centered society” is desir able. For the Christian, our trust and our hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ, Creator of heaven and earth and the Saviour o f all who put their trust in Him. When we receive our resurrection bodies, fashioned like unto His glorious body, we shall not be concerned about freezers, heaters, or anything else pertaining to the physical, but we shall enjoy God’s created universe to the fullest possible extent, traveling through the vastnesses of His creation not at the slow speed of light but at the speed of mind, which is instantan eous, and not subject to the laws of time or space. “ His servants shall serve Him and they shall see His face.” Truly, “ eye hath not seen nor ear heard, neither have entered the heart of man the things that God hath prepared for them that love Him.” The best the world can hope for is the deep freeze. Thank God, our hope is that of children of a King, heirs of God, joint-heirs with Jesus Christ, with all the rights and privileges pertaining thereto. Halle lujah, what a Saviour! JULY, 1964
