M IX TWO Mother-Daughter meet ings, a Monday morning board meeting, two meetings regarding the local church program, one music re hearsal, a weekend convention, a Friday until a Sunday nine days later, and what do you get? EX HAUSTION! Then early Thursday morning the telephone rang. “ Mother, do you think you can come this morning? I think I’ll be needing you.” “Will come, Honey. Just let me get the kids off to school and hang out this one load of wash. “ Boy,” Mark chortled, “ I’m gonna be an uncle. Will Dorotheann’s baby call me ‘Uncle Mark’ ?” “ Of course. You’re already an uncle. Don’t forget Roberta. Dorothe- ann says no child of hers is going to address adults by their first name only.” All this information came from our matter-of-fact Althea. “We’re not adults. So what?” “ You are 10% years older than the baby, so you’ll be called ‘Uncle,’ never fear.” “ I don’t see how I’ll keep my mind on my studies today,” commented college-girl Sharon, who has wedding bells on her mind. “With you, my dear, it is not just a baby who will divert your atten tion. By the way, the man phoned that your wedding invitations are ready.” “ O.K., Mother. I guess there’s no rush. Just think! Only about 72 days! I can hardly wait.” “ I can,” Mother whispered. “ Keep ing up with this family is becoming more and more of a major task. Don’t know what I’d ever do without the Lord. On second thought I do know. I’d collapse. Thank you, dear Father, for giving added strength for each day’s needs. ” P.S. Dorotheann’s and Ron’s baby is a daughter named Stephanie Marie. She was born May 1st. About the time you read this column, Sharon will be marrying her David. The wedding will be Saturday, July 11th in the First Brethren Church of Glendale at 4:30. YOU are wel come.
