About the Club: Set among the rolling hills of the Delaware Valley and surrounded by land formerly owned by the renowned DuPont family, our storied history of over 100 years has solidified Wilmington Country Club as one of the finest and most prestigious clubs in the country. With two 18-hole courses, squash, paddle, and tennis courts, the Club is home to seven dining outlets including fine dining, quick-service casual, and seasonal poolside. Private event space includes a main ballroom that seats up to 300 people, and several private spaces for a more intimate setting. About the Position: Our Clubhouse Manager is a dynamic leader, one who leads our food & beverage operations by providing the highest standard of service and hospitality to Club members and their guests. Operating closely with the culinary team and Director of Operations, you will elevate service standards, training and inspiration of food and beverage staff. The Clubhouse Manager supervises and applies the mission and vision of the Club to ensure The Wilmington Way is at the forefront of operations. Candidates must be personable, energetic, positive and highly motivated, possessing the ability to maintain organization and multi-task in a high pressure environment while exceeding expectations of an exclusive membership. The ideal candidate will embody the “Heart of Hospitality” and work to embrace and integrate the idea of “Unreasonable Hospitality” (Will Guidara, LLC) into the fabric of the food & beverage program. Essential Functions: Provide the highest quality service and product to satisfy the membership and guests. Daily operational oversight of all food & beverage service operations, including a la carte dining, bar service, member events and banquet operations throughout all outlets on property. Actively participate in the food & beverage operations providing continuous direction to management & staff and ensuring service standards are met consistently. Have a passion and aptitude for teaching, training, and developing food & beverage personnel – and working as necessary with the managers directly responsible for those operations. Empowers food & beverage management to find creative solutions to enhance the member and staff experience. Oversees beverage program including month-end beverage inventory Lead a daily line-up meeting with staff to communicate to all front-of-house staff all pertinent information including: special events, policies and guidelines.
Oversee food & beverage management to ensure scheduled staff is present, knowledgeable in that day's duties, and is performing their duties in accordance with established standards. Maintains high visibility, regularly communicating and interfacing with Members, both in person and through structured written communications. Own the outcomes of member feedback and service improvement processes Ensure management completes shift paperwork is timely and complete manner Enforce Club rules, regulations and policies. Act as initial contact for disciplinary actions. Assure that actions are consistent and accurate. Must exhibit an excellent service attitude and be willing to go out of their way to accommodate the Members and exceed their expectations. Assists with holidays and special dining room events. Must maintain a level of professionalism and communicate effectively. Proficient in computer skills including POS systems (Jonas preferred), Word and Excel. Requirements: Progressive Leadership & Management Experience in the Hospitality Industry for a minimum of 5 years Fine Dining and Beverage Service preferred Working knowledge of food, wine, spirits Full time flexible hours are required (able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays)
