TASK LIGHTING When lighting the bathroom the first thing to consider is task lighting. This is lighting for functional use and delivers the right amount of illumination to carry out everyday bathroom tasks. MOOD LIGHTING Mood lighting is about transforming a space for both ambience and practicality. Consider LED strips for a soft glow under vanity units or creatively recess in tile work for decoration. Use profiles to mount flexible strips in cabinets and shelving to discreetly eliminate dark areas. CONVENIENCE LIGHTING Lighting storage areas, cupboards and drawers in the bathroom helps to illuminate the contents for ease of use, while also adding an extra element of luxury to the design.
LIGHT IN LAYERS Bathroom lighting is so much more than simple ceiling lighting. Be creative with application of light particularly around the vanity area where an illuminated mirror or cabinet is perfectly suited. COMPLEMENT THE INTERIOR DESIGN It is important to select the right LED colour temperature to not only match the bathroom interior colours and textures, but also to suit the mood and purpose of the bathroom. Warm white LEDS have a yellow tone and complement bathrooms featuring wooden surfaces and flooring. They also create a warm, relaxing ambience perfect for relaxing. Cool white LEDS combine well with modern, bold and minimal themes and are great for task lighting and creating a bright and revitalising environment. Sensio’s CCT range of bathroom products are ideal as they offer the ability to change the the colour temperature to best suit the mood and time of day.
IP RATINGS AND ZONES Perhaps, the most important factor when choosing bathroom lighting is to ensure that the light fitting is suitable for use in the area it will be installed. Follow the product IP rating and bathroom zone guide to select the right level of protection. The higher the rating, the greater the protection against particles and water ingress.

Sensio’s range of illuminated LED mirrors and cabinets are packed full of features. These are detailed on each product page. As standard, the full range is IP44 rated for safe installation in the bathroom. Many also feature an integrated demister pad, simple control and colour temperature changing illumination - the benefits of which are all outlined in the following section.

Correlated Colour Temperature (CCT) is a concept that provides seamless transition through the full spectrum of temperatures ranging from warm, through to natural and then to cool white light. This allows you to mimic outside lighting conditions with precision - a feature that has been scientifically proven to have a positive impact on our health.
Different colour temperatures in a room have a broad range of effects and functions. For example, cool light settings offset dark tones used throughout the rest of the bathroom to create a balanced ambience. Warmer lights provide relaxing hues for a calming presence, while natural light is perfect for performing tasks, thanks to its neutral palette.
A Sensio trademarked concept first introduced in 2017, TrioTone® provides a 3-in-1 lighting choice in one light fitting or illuminated mirror. These products not only allow the option to select or change the colour temperature without having to replace the whole fitting, but also within mirrors featuring this technology, allow the owner to adjust the light temperature to suit the time of day, ambience and their personal preference.

Sensor technology is all about simple control and elegant design. A large selection of our mirrors and cabinets feature hands-free infra-red sensor or touch sensor control.
Integrated demister pads are an ultra-thin layer, mounted on the back of the mirror glass. INFRA-RED SENSORS

The IP (Ingress Protection) rating is a two digit code given to a piece of electrical apparatus that indicates the degree of protection its enclosure provides from dust, water and impact.

Using electrical equipment in bathrooms or wet rooms requires attention to safety. The IEE Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) have identified particular zones within the bathroom to indicate what type of electrical equipment can be installed.
ZONE 1 Up to 2250mm above bath, shower or wet room basin. A minimum rating of IP44. For 240V fittings, a 30ma RCD must also be used to protect the circuit.
ZONE 2 600mm outside a bath, shower, sink or water outlet.
OUTSIDE ZONES Anywhere outside zones 0, 1 and 2, where water jets are not used for cleaning purposes, the general rules of BS7671 apply.
ZONE 0 Inside the bath, shower or wet room zone. This area requires a minimum rating of IP67 and must be low voltage (12V max).

The Sensio range of LED illuminated mirrors and cabinets all feature one of three methods for installation.
1. BACK BOX MOUNTED MIRRORS
3. BRACKET MOUNTED CABINETS
Use the pre-drilled holes in the back box to measure and align where the mirror is to be installed. The back box is wall mounted, housing the components and battery compartments. The mirror simply slots onto the back box and is secured in place with screws, provided.
Cabinets are mains powered and supplied with the connecting cable exiting either at the top or bottom on the rear.

The cabinets are supplied with all the fixings required to hang.
Secure the included mounting brackets to the wall using the screws and rawl plugs. The cabinet is simply seated in place on the brackets via pre- installed hooks on the reverse of the unit.

2. KEY-HOLE MOUNTED MIRRORS
Key-hole mounted mirrors simply hang on screws.
Secure screws into the wall using rawl plugs. Leave approximately 3mm protruding on which to seat the keyholes.
Some mirrors and cabinets within the Sensio range are provided with a connection cable pre-installed. This is indicated on each product page with this icon denoting the length of the pre-connected cable supplied.

Due to the popularity of light emitting diodes, lighting has become very efficient over the past 20 years with most products on the market falling comfortably into the A to A +++ rating. To make way for future improvements in energy saving technology, a new grading system has been implemented which simplifies the grading system as well as making it much harder for products to achieve higher ratings.
The grades now range from A to G and all products are re-classified on this new scale. Customers can be assured they are still receiving the high quality lighting products from Sensio they did previously. However, the simplified scale now makes it easier to make an informed decision when choosing their lighting as well as allowing room on the scale for products with future advancements in energy saving technology.
