EXCITING WAYS TO ENJOY THE END OF SPRING Phoenix Heats Up Well, Phoenix, the weather is heating up! While the calendar says it’s still spring, it certainly feels like summer. But that doesn’t mean we can’t get out and have some fun! Here’s a guide to making the most of this exciting month — outdoors and in the cool air conditioning! DESERT BOTANICAL GARDEN’S FLASHLIGHT LIGHTS If you’re looking to experience Phoenix’s natural beauty in a unique way, the Desert Botanical Garden’s Flashlight Nights offer an enchanting experience. Every Saturday in June (and all summer long), from 6:30–9:30 p.m., you can explore the garden’s trails by flashlight, discovering nocturnal wildlife and illuminated desert plants. It’s a magical way to beat the heat and enjoy the outdoors after dark. HIKING AND BIKING Break out your bikes and tennis shoes! This summer is an ideal time for outdoor activities in Phoenix before the summer heat truly sets in. Popular spots like Camelback Mountain and South Mountain Park offer trails for all skill levels, providing breathtaking city and desert views. For biking enthusiasts, the extensive trails at Papago Park are perfect for a family outing or a challenging ride. ARIZONA DIAMONDBACK GAMES Summer is all about baseball! Fans can catch the Arizona Diamondbacks in action at Chase Field. Throughout June, the Diamondbacks have several home games, offering a fun outing for baseball enthusiasts. The stadium’s retractable roof and
air conditioning make it a comfortable experience, even in the summer heat.
PHOENIX ZOO Before the temperatures get too hot, it’s an excellent time to visit the Phoenix Zoo! This time of year, the zoo is bustling with activities, including special events and animal encounters, which are both educational and engaging for visitors of all ages. Many of the animals are more active in these warm but not excruciating temperatures, increasing the likelihood of witnessing playful behaviors and feeding times! What are you waiting for? Get out and explore all that Phoenix and surrounding areas have to offer before summer rolls around! Have fun!
