Into the future - Evertis 2023 Sustainability Report

Circular economy Evertis centres our innovation in products that increase recyclability and circularity, supporting the creation of closed-loop production systems, and the design of products that are made to be recycled. This approach optimises resource use, emphasising recycling over virgin materials, and thus reducing waste generation and greenhouse gas emissions, ultimately extending product lifespan. Embracing circular economy practices not only ensures compliance with regulations but also positions Evertis as a leader in sustainable business practices. This strategic alignment with regulatory requirements and broader sustainability goals enhances our long-term viability and competitiveness in the market. Our industry has a responsibility to take steps to reduce plastic waste. This also means working across the supply chain, as well as with governments and private waste collectors in investing in the infrastructure to improve the systems in place for the collection and sorting of recycled material. In 2023 Evertis joined the Business Coalition for a Global Plastics Treaty, joining over 160 organisations in accelerating progress towards a circular economy in which plastic never becomes waste or pollution, and the value of products and materials is retained in the economy. With ISO 14001 certification across all sites, we leverage the framework to integrate circular economy principles into our environmental management systems, fostering a more comprehensive and sustainable approach to our business operations. This enhances our reputation among our stakeholders, specifically our clients who value environmentally responsible practices.

“Our industry is in an exciting time as customers and their brands take the most tangible steps to date toward a more circular economy. Increasing access to recyclable products and post consumer recycled content are part of nearly every customer engagement today. We are pleased to be both an innovator and an educator when it comes to packaging for a circular economy as this is one of the greatest challenges our world faces today.”
