Circular economy New delamination plant with proprietary technology

As part of our strong commitment to circularity and tray-to-tray initiatives, over the past three years we have been working on identifying innovative solutions to recycle multilayer trays. During these years, we established a multidisciplinary team who have worked closely with clients, waste management entities, recyclers, and technology providers to identify the best technologies that could provide an efficient and effective solution to recycle multilayer trays. The goal of the project included identifying a proper delamination technology to recover PET flakes from multilayer films, through a process which could be compatible with food-contact applications and environmentally friendly practices. This resulted in an investment of approximately 1 million euros dedicated to building a new delamination plant, with a capacity of 350 tonnes per month. This unit is now operational and through our proprietary technology, provides clear PET flakes from multilayer material. The recycled PET is then safely incorporated into new transparent film for food-contact packaging applications. Our innovative technology demonstrates the recyclability potential of PET films, specifically multilayer films and trays.

2021 Launched our Innovation Task Force, as a multidisciplinary team to explore innovative recycling solutions for trays 2022 Collaborated with technology producers and recycling suppliers to test several innovative recycling and delamination technologies 2023 Q1 Identified an effective solution, at laboratory scale, to successfully delaminate multilayer PET films and trays 2023 Q3/Q4 Construction of a plant to test the delamination technology at industrial scale 2023 Q4 Started-up our delamination plant with a capacity of 350 tonnes per month
