Into the future - Evertis 2023 Sustainability Report

Partnership for reforestation: a commitment to the Atlantic Forest Environment Within our commitment to combat deforestation, in 2023 we initiated discussions with Instituto Terra, and reached a collaborative agreement set to occur in 2024. Instituto Terra is a non- profit organisation dedicated to environmental preservation. Through our partnership, we aim to contribute to the restoration and conservation of the Atlantic Forest biome in the Vale do Rio Doce basin, Brazil, one of the most biodiverse and threatened ecosystems in the world. The primary objective of this partnership is planting native Atlantic Forest tree seedlings in the region. Planting activities are scheduled to occur during the rainy period, spanning from October 2024 to January 2025.

The Instituto Terra is a Brazilian non-profit organisation dedicated to environmental conservation and reforestation efforts. It was founded in 1998 by Lélia Deluiz Wanick Salgado and the renowned Brazilian photographer, Sebastião Salgado. Sebastião Salgado’s photography often highlights environmental issues, and the Instituto Terra was established as a response to the degradation he witnessed in his home region of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Through their work, the institute aims to promote biodiversity conservation and sustainable development practices in Brazil and beyond. Through this initiative, we reaffirm our dedication to environmental sustainability and our responsibility towards combating deforestation and promoting biodiversity conservation.
