Recycling heroes Curitiba, Brazil
Evertis partnered with three local schools in Curitiba to develop creative activities designed to foster recycling awareness amongst the younger generations. The first part of the program included 'The Recycling Heroes' puppet show, where puppets crafted from recycled materials, were used to tell a story that explained to children the importance of recycling and how to recycle. The second part of the program included a recycled costumes competition, whereby children used their creativity to design costumes made from repurposed materials, culminating in a fun costume parade. Through these activities children became aware of the potential within our everyday waste to give materials another life. In total, 810 young children received environmental and recycling education through these fun and effective pedagogic methods that conveyed key messages about waste reduction and the significance of recycled materials. Teachers noted a significant evolution in students' awareness and commitment to repurposing materials, fostering not just environmental understanding but also a profound sense of responsibility towards our planet. Evertis invited our suppliers to sponsor this initiative, as we believe that collaborative work enables greater outcomes and the gradual yet secure construction of a cohesive and sustainable society.
