SCL Health and Safety Policy

• The security arrangements will cover as relevant:

The site;

The buildings;

Notices;

• Control of visitors and contractors to SCL;

• Transport and pedestrians arriving at the SCL in the morning and leaving in the afternoon;

Locks and keys;

Out-of-bounds areas;

Dealing with trespassers;

• Security of staff and student property;

Vehicles and cycles;

• Movement around the site and buildings; and

• Responsibilities for security aspects.

All Employees

The Employees’ Health and Safety responsibilities are to ensure that they:

• Understand SCL’s Health and Safety Policy and appreciate the allocated responsibilities.

• Co-operate with SCL to comply with the requirements of Health and Safety legislation.

• Attend and complete all required/mandatory training.

• Observe safety rules, procedures, and safe systems of work at all times.

• Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health, safety, or welfare.

• Do not endanger themselves or other persons through their actions or failures to act.

• Refrain from horseplay / dangerous play.

• Do not operate any work equipment unless they have been fully trained and instructed in its operation and have been authorised to use it by SCL.

• Only use equipment, which is in good condition and appropriate for the task.

• Correctly use appropriate safety equipment provided and Personal Protective Equipment. • Avoid improvisation, report all defects in equipment and materials, or any obvious safety or health hazards. • Report all accidents, incidents and damage following the company accident reporting procedure, whether persons are injured or not. • Make suggestions to improve Health and Safety in SCL undertaking to the Operations Director. • Conform to all safety instructions given by those with a highest responsibility for Health and Safety.
