Neenah Introduces RECYCOTAPE, 100 Percent Recyclable Tape Backing Alpharetta, Georgia based Neenah, Inc. has introduced the first-of-its-kind, environmentally forward RECYCOTAPE tape backing to its sustainable product offering. Consum- ers can now recycle shipping or packaging boxes sealed with RECYCOTAPE, which will break down along with the box during the recycling process. RECYCOTAPE is uniquely made from FSC certified, sustainably sourced fibers that easily repulp and allow coating removal during the recycling process. As a result, these base papers can provide usable fiber to reprocess into new paper. “There is a growing interest in the market for an en- vironmentally friendly alternative to traditional packaging tapes and a viable replacement for plastic-based, non-re- cyclable tapes used to seal corrugated boxes. RECYCO- TAPE is both,” said Chris Boothby, Tape Product Manager for Neenah. “Neenah leads the market in custom perfor- mance tape backings for standard and customer-specific packaging tape applications. RECYCOTAPE is everything that customers expect from Neenah; high tensile strength, premium printability, superior extensibility, and sustainably manufactured. We’re excited to now meet consumer de- mand with a state-of-the-art tape backing product that per- forms beautifully without compromising the environment.”

P+PB Launches New Sustainability Initiative

This month, the Paper and Packaging Board’s (P+PB) How Life Unfolds campaign is launching an integrated commu- nication effort with sustainability at the center. Continuing to reach our highly targeted, custom consumer audience, this work features an animated style designed to appeal to upcoming generations of Expressives. The new effort leverages the recyclability of our prod- ucts, innovations that put the planet first and our industry’s legacy of sustainable forest stewardship to encourage consumers to be a force for nature by choosing paper. The initiative begins with a focus on recycling and the circular economy, as a recent Carton Council study found that 70 percent of consumers agreed they would recycle more if they knew what products were created from their recycled materials. That is good news for residential recycling and the strong desire to get those boxes back. Supporting overarching campaign goals to increase consumer preference for paper and to bolster industry reputation, the new creative work includes imaginative animated video, colorful digital banners, print ads and a content-rich microsite: PaperForNature.com . This new site will work in tandem with HowLifeUnfolds.com , edu- cating consumers about the sustainability of our products and industry.
