THE WINNER OF AN OLYM- PIC SILVER MEDAL for Serbia in the taekwondo women’s 67 kg cat- egory provided strong resistance in the final bout against Hungarian Viv- iana Marton, who ultimately won 2:0 in rounds. Serbia’s taekwondo fight- er cried with regret over not win- ning gold, despite second place in the world being reason to feel joyful! “I’m glad that I succeeded in winning another medal for Serbia, but I’m sorry that it isn’t gold and I hope that this is a good start and that I’ll shine even more brightly in Los Angeles. I thank everyone who supported and encouraged us, and endured all this with us,” said a tear- ful Perišić after the fight. This young Serbian taekwondo practitioner came to Paris to realise her dream and succeeded in doing so. And apart from winning a med- al, she also won over the hearts of all fans. She says that her first fight at the Games was the toughest, because she didn’t know what was waiting for her, so she was nervous. When it was all over, her colleagues welcomed her at the Olympic village with mu- sic and cake... I’ll shine with gold in Los Angeles
