U z gromoglasne ovacije i patriotske pe- sme hiljade građana okupilo se sredi- nom avgusta ispred zgrade Skupštine grada Beograda kako bi dočekali srp- ske olimpijce, ponos nacije, ljude koji su na Olimpijskim igrama zlatnim slovima ispisa- li nove stranice sportske istorije. Atmosfera je bila ispunjena ponosom i uzbuđenjem dok su šampio- ni izlazili na balkon, noseći sa sobom medalje kao simbole svoje upornosti, talenta i neizmerne ljuba- vi prema domovini. Novak Đoković, čije su reči uvek inspiraci- ja, obratio se okupljenima sa posebnim ponosom: „Ovo je naš zajednički uspeh. Hvala vam na neve- rovatnoj podršci, svaki vaš aplauz i navijanje su nam dali snagu na terenu.“ Ni kapiten košarkaša Bogdan Bogdanović nije bio manje emotivan: „Ovo je za svaku žrtvu na terenu. Srbija je pokazala da može biti najbolja, gde god da se takmičimo.“ Prethodno je olimpijce primio predsednik Srbi- je Aleksandar Vučić, koji im je zahvalio na pobeda- ma i odličjima.
A midst thunderous applause and patriot- ic songs, thousands of citizens gathered earlier this month in front of Belgrade City Hall to welcome the Serbian Olym- pians, the pride of the nation, who have inscribed new pages of sports history in golden let- ters at the Olympic Games. The atmosphere was filled with pride and excitement as our champions stepped out onto the balcony, carrying their medals as sym- bols of their perseverance, talent, and immense love for their homeland. Novak Đoković, whose words are always an inspi- ration, addressed the crowd with special pride: ‘This is our collective success. Thank you for your incredible support; every applause and cheer gave us strength on the field.” Basketball star Bogdan Bogdanovic was also overwhelmed with emotion: ‘This is for every sacrifice and every moment on the court. Serbia has shown that it can be the best, wherever we compete.” The Olympians were previously received by Serbi- an President Aleksandar Vučić, who thanked them for their victories and awards.
