Your students can receive FREE books from the new READ program! ● READ is now available to Louisiana students in preK through 5th grades who are not yet reading on grade level. ● The Louisiana Department of Education has partnered with Scholastic to deliver grade-level appropriate books and reading resources straight to families’ homes to help children develop their reading skills and a love of reading. ● Children and their families can select the topics of the books they would like to receive. High-quality books and engaging literacy resources are offered in English and Spanish. ● Families can register for READ using their school’s unique site code. Please make sure your schools have their 6-digit site code.
