The UWI Climate Justice and Education Hub The University of the West Indies, with funding from the Open Society Foundations, is developing an online Climate Justice, Education and Literacy Hub. The hub, which is being spearheaded by the Global Campus, will provide a source for information and resources on climate change, climate action, climate justice, and other areas relating to climate literacy and sustainable development. Additionally, it will serve as a space for networking and collaboration for citizens from the Caribbean and other Small Island Developing States. The hub will also present a unique opportunity for individuals to learn about climate change and to undertake actions aimed at mitigating and adapting to its impacts, as well as sharing on the network. In July 2023, two stakeholder surveys were conducted to engage the university community and obtain feedback from young people between the ages of 16-30 and educators, representatives of non- governmental organisations, community activists and policy-makers to garner support for the design of the hub. The hub will be hosted on the Global Institute for Climate Smart and Resilience Development (GICSRD) website and will be launched in early 2024.
