INTRODUCTION
SCL Group are committed to providing high-quality careers education, information, advice, and guidance (CEIAG) to all our learners. This includes learners accessing Study Programmes, Apprenticeships, and Adult Learning programmes. Recipients of CEIAG may include parents/carers/guardians in the making of informed decisions for those learners who need additional support. SCL Group believe that effective CEIAG is essential in preparing individuals for successful transitions into further education, employment, or training. As an Independent Training Provider, SCL Group is not required to adhere to the Gatsby Benchmarks. However, SCL Group has aligned this policy to the benchmarks which outlines our commitment to delivering comprehensive CEIAG to learners, ensuring they have the necessary support to make informed decisions about their future.
INTENT
SCL Group are dedicated to providing a high-quality CEIAG provision that equips learners with the skills, knowledge, and guidance they need to make informed decisions about their future careers. SCL Group aim to support the aspirations of learners and contribute to their successful transition into further education, employment, or training. SCL Group believe it is vital that good career guidance is embedded in education and learning, so that young people will be better equipped to take their next step.
GATSBY BENCHMARKS
In 2013, Gatsby commissioned Sir John Holman to set out what career guidance in England would be like if it were to be as good as international standards. The eight Gatsby Benchmarks defined in Good Career Guidance report. serve as a framework for world-class careers provision and have been adopted as part of the Government's Careers Strategy, statutory guidance for schools and guidance for colleges. In addition, The Careers & Enterprise Company now supports the implementation of the Benchmarks in schools and colleges with a national network of support, resources and targeted funding.
