Our infrastructure has become ex- tremely susceptible to natural disasters caused by climate change. Unfortunate- ly, as climate change progresses, the instances of natural disasters will be- come more frequent and more intense. With the energy sector interacting with all other utilities, such as water and gas, it is important to understand the

impact of these severe weather instanc- es and how to prepare for them. This year, we have seen a massive in- crease in severe weather that has put a strain on utilities across the country. According to National Oceanic and Atmo- spheric Administration (NOAA) report, there have been 15 individual weather and climate disaster events from January
