IS JAM-PACKED Our Event Calendar
W hen two states and dozens of communities combine along a world-renowned river, you’re guaranteed a real and unforgettable experience. Our events calendar is bursting with flavor, action, culture, and a “something for everyone” vibe. The Quad Cities is where we do it live! Live music is available almost every single night of the week all over our region. Many free concerts are available throughout the year and include weekly shows like the Summer Concert Series at Bass Street Landing in Moline, Common Chord’s “Live at 5” series in Downtown Davenport and Thursday Night Groove at Schwiebert Riverfront Park in Rock Island. Larger music events draw great crowds to picturesque stages, like Blues Fest along the Mississippi River at the LeClaire Park bandshell in Davenport. This hot spot is also home to the annual Quad City Symphony Riverfront Pops. Davenport, Iowa is home to jazz legend Bix Beiderbeck. Each year his musical stylings are honored with the Bix Jazz Festival. There are plenty of ways to get your heart pumping with our active scene! Join in the 50th running of the Quad-City Times Bix 7 or participate in one of the many race divisions within the TBK Bank Quad Cities Marathon and experience a race that
takes you through two states, four cities and over three bridges. For our more water-loving friends, Taming of the Slough is an adventure triathlon where you paddle through a slough along the Mississippi River, bike to Sylvan Island and run on the new I-74 Bridge’s pedestrian path. Or you can float along the Mississippi River with hundreds of paddle enthusiasts. Each year Floatzilla makes a go of breaking a world record for the largest flotilla made up of kayaks and canoes. The Quad Cities prides itself on presenting world-class parades. The St. Patrick’s Day Grand Parade is the only bi-state parade in the country, moving from Rock Island, Illinois into Davenport, Iowa, kicking off one of our largest parties of the year. Seas of green swarm the downtowns to celebrate and cheers to St. Patrick. A long-standing tradition in the Quad Cities is the Festival of Trees Parade presented by Quad City Arts. Not only does it kick off our holiday season, but it shows off our talented high school marching bands and performing arts groups. It also stakes claim to being the largest helium balloon parade in the Midwest. This parade brings spectators to downtown Davenport, dressed in holiday garb, ready to see Santa.
