in Jesus Christ as his Sav- ior. Who is the truth, the way and the life, as the Bible teaches, the Word of GOD. It’s heartwarming to see the response. The so-called right-wing “haters,” didn’t vandalize, loot and burn upon learning of his murder. They stand above that, they stand upon that same ROCK. Church attendance has jumped, but unless those churches are founded upon that ROCK, JESUS the Christ, their Savior and founded in GOD’s Word, the Bible, they will drift away. This will also require many of the churches and pastors to do the same. Leave your houses built upon sand and go to the ROCK! -Bill Behringer, Winneconne, Wis.

“Charlie, who?” — that was my response, when a friend told me about Mr. Kirk’s murder. My aversion to social media and minimal interaction with the younger generations was the reason. I will get back to that. The mostly junk news my TV gets for free was now buzzing about him. As usual it presented the right, left spectrum. I do have a “smart phone,” but shy away from search- ing the net. Friends sent me clips, it was eye opening. Here was a young, unedu- cated (no college degree) man actually seeking dia- logue with the liberal youth dominating our universities. His mantra, “Prove me wrong.” My experience on construction sites was of high school graduates, that

a few finger widths away draw another dot. Then use the ruler as a straight edge to connect them with a pen- cil line. Conventional thinking has many believing that if both sides (dots) can meet some- where near the center, our differences may be resolved. Not so — and one video I saw with Charlie very aptly showed why. Use your com- pass to draw a circle using those two dots. Put the sta-

they, “like, stuttered and um, like parroted liberal buzz words,” he stood well spoken and strong, citing facts. Now, let’s re-examine the right/left spectrum, using simple school supplies, re- quired when I went to grade school. Paper, pencil, a one foot ruler (no math or meas- urements) and a compass. In the middle of the paper draw a dot, then to the left,

so the sinner must exercise his freewill and cast the deciding vote to be saved. It is assumed that sinful men have a mental will or ability to make the final decision. Obviously the total depravity of the sinner is completely ignored or buried in human emotion. God’s Word tells us repeatedly that we are dead spiritually. See Eph- esians and Romans 3. Spiritually, we were as a bunch of dead and rotting bones. See Isaiah 1, and Ezekiel 3. The Arminian will be quick to point out that there is no spark of goodness in a sinner but oh how he covets his so called “freewill.” My friends, this freewill fallacy only gives glory to the flesh. “And in the flesh dwells no good thing,” see Romans 7:18. If any man glory (boast) let him glory in the cross of Jesus Christ. Finally, is it any wonder that there is no fear of God in most churches today? This teaching that God has no hands but man’s hand, and no feet but man’s feet — etc. only portrays God as some hapless, helpless, heathcliff whom man can ma- nipulate at will. In Daniel 4:35 we read, “All the inhabi- tants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and He doeth His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay His hand or say ‘What doest thou?’” Also see Romans 9:20. To sum up: we owe our Salvation to the free and Sovereign Grace of God! Period. Not one of God’s sheep - (See John Chap- ter 10) shall perish, because God willed it so when Christ purchased His elect with His shed blood on the cross. “All that the Father giveth Me, shall come to Me.” John 6:37.

There are two teachings which have taken the fundamentalist churches by storm. Both have their roots in two oft quoted verses. One is based on John 3:16 and the other on 2 Peter 3:9. It was a blessing to read the commentary in Wis- consin Christian News by Marion Sailing in the most recent issues. I cannot im- prove on what Marion explained on John 3:16, but on 2 Peter 3:9 and often pro- faned and curiously explained, I would wish to add the following and also suggest that my fellow believers get an old Bible Commentary — Pre twentieth century, perhaps by Spurgeon, Thomas Brooks, Edwards, or Matthew Henry. J.C. Ryle is also excellent and read what the old timers have to say about 2 Peter 3:9. My first observation is that most today have a belief system built on the fallacy of Christ’s atonement being universal in its application. In 2 Peter 3:9 we must first look at who Peter is addressing. In 1 Peter 1:1-2 we find he is writing to the elect ac- cording to the foreknowledge of God. That would not include every Tom, Dick, and Harry as the universalists would have us believe. More often than not, most univer- salists conveniently leave “but is long-suf- fering to usward” out of the verse. This is patently wrong as those who are the “usward” are God’s elected sheep. See John chapter 10, “And I assure you brethren, not one of Christ’s blood-bought sheep (the elect) shall perish.” Because God is God and He tells us so. God has been very clear that He does not take pleasure in the perishing of the wicked. See Ezekiel 18:23, yet His perfect will is always fulfilled! My second observation is that many of those who believe in man having a free will will take this verse out of context. It goes something like this: Satan is in a tug of war with the Holy Spirit over a man’s soul,
