He That Hath An Ear...

main, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect (as a result of your first love, “agape” love) be- fore God. Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments;
I am going to refer to the churches in Revelation chap- ters two and three in a differ- ent order by starting with the most severe shifting of faith to the least. For it is our shifting faith which is causing the greatest damage to the fur- therance of the gospel of re-
pentance and forgiveness that sets one free from the bondage to sin, as Jesus commands us in Luke 24:37: Being the only answer to our deteriorating nation, communities, and families. In Revelation 2:4-7, Jesus speaks of the church in Ephesus; “Thou hast left thy first love (26-‘agape’ perfect love as Paul spoke highly of their perfect love to all saints in Ephesians 1:15). Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works,” the works of perfect love. “Or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy can- dlestick out of his place… He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto (all) the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the para- dise of God.” To the church in Laodicea (Revelation 3:15-22) Jesus states, “I know thy works, that thou art nei- ther cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth… as many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore and repent… To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in His throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the spirit sayeth unto (all) the churches.” In Revelation 3:1-6 Jesus says to those at the church in Sardis; “I know thy works, that thou hast a name (Christian) that thou livest, and art dead.” Taking His name in vain, as an unsaved Christian! The term “unsaved Christian” is an oxymoron as one only “having a form of godliness,” claiming the name of Christ in vain, “but denying the power thereof: from such turn away” (II Timothy 3:5). Jesus said of these types of people in Mark 12:24, “Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the Scriptures, neither the power of God?” This is also taught in Isaiah 29:13, 15; “Wherefore the Lord said, For as this people draw near to me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour Me, but have removed their heart (shifted their faith) far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the precepts (imaginations) of men… Woe unto them.” “Be watchful, and strengthen the things which re-
against thee, because (you have allowed false pas- tors, teachers) to teach and seduce my servants to commit fornication (4203- to indulge in unlawful lust of either sex, or metaphorically to lust after that which is not right, calling good evil, and evil good.), and to eat things offered unto idols.” We still sacrifice to idols today with our time and money, for things that come before God and others, even though there is much evidence that we in so doing are supporting and promoting the evils that are destroying lives. For the last number of decades the Christian response to this was, “Don’t be so judgmental!” That now it is so ingrained in our Christian culture that just about anything goes by also saying, “That is between me and God.” (Verses 21-29) “And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am He which searcheth the reins (3510-the inner man) and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you ac- cording to your works (justice without compassion and mercy). But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan (his de- ception to entrap them in the works of destruction), as they speak; I will put upon you none other bur- den. But that which ye have already hold fast ‘til I come. And he that overcometh, and keepeth My works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations… He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto (all) the churches.”
and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. He that overcometh, the same (also) shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before His angels. He that hath an ear let him hear what the Spirit saith unto (all) the churches.” Again John writes in Revelation 2:8-11, “These things sayeth the First and the Last, which was dead, and is alive (to the church at Smyrna); I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are of the syn- agogue of Satan.” Are we any different today, who claim in vain to be a Christian, and listen just as they did to their father the devil? “Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer (tribulation and poverty): behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days (all this I allow, that you learn obedience to my every word): be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto (all) the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death,” as described in Revelation 20:5- 6. John also writes in Revelation 2:18-29, “These things sayeth the Son of God (to the church in Thy- atira), who hath His eyes like unto fire, and His feet are like fine brass; I know thy works, and charity (‘agape’ perfect love), and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last (works) to be
more than the first. (But) I have a few t h i n g s
