BIOLA-ISRAEL You'll never read your Bible the same again after experiencing firsthand its land, culture, people and history through this multi-faceted travel-study program. Biola-Israel combines on-campus preparation during the fall semester with a month of study in the Holy Land during the January interterm. Your Bible, as well as your morning newspaper, will come alive as you trace the routes of Biblical characters from Mt. Hermon to the Red Sea, exploring famous sites like Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, Caesarea, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Beersheva, the Dead Sea, Masada, and many more. Academically, Biola-Israel provides a rigorous, inte grated learning experience in the areas of biblical stud ies, intercultural studies, physical geography, modern history, political science of the Middle East, physical education (hiking), and small-group relationships. Specific requirements include a basic curriculum of 6 units, which is required of all students. Beyond this core, the student may elect to do additional study, with which it is possible to earn a total of 8-11 units of credit. Those interested in participating should leave open their required Biblical Studies elective, one Physical Education activity course, and 2-7 units of general elec tives (requirements vary slightly according to one's major emphasis) . Prerequisites include·Early and Later Hebrew History (OTS 101-102) and New Testament Literature I (NTS 201) , or their equivalents. Applications can be obtained in the Biola-Israel office and should be received with deposit early in the spring semester for the Interterm program. Students are accepted on a first-come basis as space permits. Biola-Israel is direct ed by biblical studies professor, Dr. Ron Pierce, and his wife Pat. For further information please write or call the Biola-Israel office, ext. 3440/3386.

BIOLA ABROAD Biola Abroad is an in-residence program offering an academic semester in Europe. Students are given the opportunity to broaden their perspectives and integrate learning with experience. To bring culture to life, class work is richly supplemented by field trips. Classes are conducted in English and courses of instruction and credits are the same as those on the La Mirada campus. Because of economic and political instability, programs abroad are under constant review. A strong effort is made to offer a quality program at a reasonable price. Academic semesters are planned with a German orientation each fall . Course offerings are primarily in the area of general education requirements on the sophomore level, but some upperclassmen with an interest in the humanities toward the BA., B.M., or B.S. may apply. All participants must be full-time students and choose one from each of the five following blocks of classes for 12-15 units of credit. It is important that incoming students interested in taking part in Biola Abroad plan their curriculum from the start, leaving open courses to be taken abroad during their sophomore year and satisfying prerequi sites. Applications for the fall must be completed in February. For further information please contact Mrs. P. Buss, Administrative Assistant of Biola Abroad, 13800 Biola Avenue, La Mirada, CA 90639-0001.
