O nce they come to Harvest of Hope, Jayden West joined the Harvest of Hope team last February and is responsible for giving COVID tests to program participants. Though HOH offers housing to participants around the Baltimore area, Jayden works in the main building, where the counseling and activities occur. When participants finish their sessions, he will call them back for testing. But it doesn’t stop there. “I’m a very social person. I always ask it’s nothing but love.

“They showed me so much love; they gave me this opportunity. I tell them all the time how much I appreciate them. The Lawrence family is top tier—they give me tons of opportunities and push me to get to the next level. They make sure I strive and always have something going for me, even going to the gym—something that has a positive impact. I Love the teamwork here and how people treat each other. Nothing but professionalism and respect for each

them how their day is—I make sure they see that they are special and treat them as my friend. Once they come to Harvest of Hope, it’s nothing but love. I always show them appreciation and make sure they appreciate themselves.” As an intern and student at Stevenson University, Jayden plans to major in cyber security and minor in business entrepreneurship. And he likes to keep healthy.

other, and everybody treats each other like family.” He is quite impressed with the services that Harvest of Hope offers. Of course, it’s all about recovery. And to aid with that, HOH offers housing, they have a nurse practitioner on staff, lab testing, counselors, front office managers, music and art therapy—and HOH helps with other community programs.

“I’m big on fitness and eat well.” He passes his healthy outlook on to clients at Harvest of Hope, “… making sure their body is healthy, with simple conversations. I like ensuring people feel like they’re top-tier and accomplishing their goals. I like pushing people, and I like talking to people. If they have a problem, I try to help them solve it. If they are uncomfortable, I want them to see if they can step outside their comfort zone to make that discomfort disappear. That’s how you grow—protecting your peace, making sure your energy is right, and how you cope with things. And making sure their body is performing no matter their age—it’s an opportunity to grow.” Jayden is very grateful to the Lawrence family: Steven Lawrence, the founder of HOH, his wife and CEO, Robin Lawrence, and their daughter, Stephanae (whom he also happens to be dating!).

Jaydon shares: “A different program drops kids off at HOH so they can get counseling here.” When asked what he enjoys, he answers, “I like to help give back to the community, go to the gym, to help my grandfather. I like to be happy; I like seeing people smile and making sure the clients know they are in good hands. They don’t have to be scared to talk to me; I’m a loving type of person.”
