A minimum of 130 units of university work must be successfully complet ed. 5. All course work during the final semes­ ter which will be applied toward gradua­ tion requirements must be taken at Biola University Special Note: All graduation require­ ments may be met within four school years by carrying approximately 16 or 17 units each semester. A student may still be graduated wit hin four years if he w ishes to take a lighter load and will enroll in sum­ mer session and/or interterm. Commencement All degree requirements must be com­ pleted before the student may participate 1n commencement ceremonies. Those who complete their degree requirements during interterm or summer session must register in a non-resident status for the fol­ lowing semester, with graduation sched­ uled at the time of the next commence­ ment. In such cases no tuition is charged . It 1s expect ed that all graduating students will be present at commencement cere­ monies except in cases of extreme emer­ gency or other similarly difficult circum­ stances. Permission to graduate in absentia must be secured from the director of records well in advance.

Al l baccalaureat e degrees requ ire a minimum of I 30 semester units of credit for graduat ion. Each major consists of a min imum of 30 units of which 24 must be upper division. The Bachelor of Music de­ gree requires 140 units. A degree in bio­ logical science requires I 35 units and nurs­ ing, 142 units. For specific major require­ ments please see indicated maior listi ngs . Graduate Programs The Master of Arts degree . Offered in Christ ian school admi nistration and educa­ t ion. The Master of Music degree. Offered in church music. School of lntercultural Studies and World Missions, offers the Bachelor of Arts degree in 1ntercultural studies and t he Master of Arts degree in intercultural studies and world missions. Talbot Theological Seminary and School of Theology, offers the Bachelor of Arts degree in biblical studies and Christian education and t he Master of Arts degree in biblical studies, mi nist1·y, Christian educa­ tion, missions, theological studies and mar­ riage and famil y mi nistries. Talbot also of­ fers the Master of Divinity degree, the Master of Theology degree, the Doctor of Ministry degree and the Doctor of Educa­ tion degree. Rosemead School of Psychology, offers the Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and the Master of Arts, the Doctor of Psychology and the Doctor of Philsophy degrees in clinical psychology. Undergraduate Programs Double Degree Students seeking a second baccalaureate degree must complet e a min imum of 30 distinct units in a second area of major studies. A mi nimum of I 60 t otal units are required for graduation with a double de­ gree. All pre-requisites, supporting courses and depar tmental requirements for each major must be completed. The student must confer with the departments in which he will major and with the director of records.

Double Major A student may be graduated with two majors. The fol lowing informat ion is for those pursuing two majors : All pre-requisit es, supporti ng courses and departmental requirements for each major must be completed. The second major must have mi nimum of 18 upper division units unique to that major (i.e.. minimum of 48 major units and 148 tot al units required - see individual major requirements). The st udent must confe1· with the departments in which he will major and with the director of records. Minors Although Biola University does not re­ quire the student to have a minor for graduation, there are a number of in­ stances in which a student may wish to take a minor, especially in planning for a ca­ reer in teachi ng. By checking the various departments in the catalog, a student may determine 1f a minor is offered. A minor usually requires a minimum of 18 units, 12 of which should be upper division. Nine units must be taken in residence, six of which must be upper d1vis1on. All units must be unique to the mi nor and may not be counted toward the maior requirements. Requirements for All Baccalaureate Degrees I . A minimum of thirty units must be taken at Biola University, including at least fifteen units (upper division level) in the major field. Extension credit or credit by exami­ nation may not be used to fulfill the mini ­ mum residence requirement of 30 semes­ ter units. Students desiring a minor. see paragraph above on minors.
