A study of the relationship of the church to governmental agen cies. Consideration given to social and moral issues, with special attention to the responsibility of the church as a contributor to change. Prescribed for M.Div. and M.A. (Min.) students. PT 704 PASTORAL MINISTRY (4) A study of the pastor ' s call, philosophy of ministry, orientation, role , ethics, spiritual life and ministry, with attention to lead ership in worship and special services. Consideration given to long-range planning , administration and church and community relations. Emphasis on equipping others for their own ministry within the local church. Prescribed for M.Div. students. PT 710 LEADERSHIP RELATIONSHIPS (Same as CE 610) (2) Consideration of interpersonal relations between members of a multiple staff as well as management principles in church related groups. Elective. PT 720 COLLEGE TEACHING PROCEDURES (2) (Same as CE 720) Consideration given to the various philosophies of education, theories of learning, the factors that influence learning at the undergraduate and graduate level. Emphasis given to becoming a more effective teacher. Variables in motivation , retention , trans fer and high level thinking will be discussed. A supervised classroom teaching experience is required. PT 724 SMALL GROUP LEADERSHIP (2) Theory and practices of the group processes as applied to church groups , social activities , classes, committees and inter-church councils. Investigation of the techniques of sensitivity training as it relates to the church. Methods of Christian growth in the small

Counseling techniques applied to dating and courtship, engage ment and premarital adjustments. Principles and structures of premarital counseling are stressed and demonstrated. PT 728 MARRIAGE AND FAMILY COUNSELING (4) (Same as CE 628) Advanced course dealing with problems and conflicts within marriage and family settings. Counseling methods and practical behavioral methods from a scriptural context designed to meet problems and conflicts; conducted via demonstrations, case stud ies and counseling involvement. The course is taught by an experienced armed services chaplain on the seminary faculty. Elective.
