The Rosemead faculty offers courses from the bachelor 's level in psychology through the doctorate in clinical psychology. The psychology major provides opportunities for undergraduate students to interact with theoretical , research and applied issues concerning human dynamics, including biblical considerations. It is intended that many students completing the major in psychology will pursue graduate work in psychology or related disciplines. To this end, the undergraduate major consists of a core of required courses providing a comprehensive founda­ tion to which is added elective courses which provide specializa­ tion suited to the individual student's interests and professional goals. Psychology Major: The major requires 32 units beyond the general education requirement (Psy 200), 24 of which must be upper division. Psychology 200 is a prerequisite to all other psychology courses. Biology 311 is required as a supporting course. Core Courses: Statistics (210), Experimental Psychology (305), Introduction to Measurement (306), Learning (310), Social Psychology (405) and Theories of Personality (41 l). Early Childhood Education Program: Open to all majors for elective credit, this program leads to certificat ion by the State of California for Preschool Education. The program requires 17 units, including Early Childhood Education - Programs I , II , and III (20 I , 311, and 350), Developmental I (307) and Family Interaction and the Child (430). Department Minor: 18 units , 12 of which must be upper divi­ sion . Psychology 200 is a prerequisite for the minor. 200 INTRODUCTION TO PSYCHOLOGY (3) A survey of psychology as an empirical/behavioral science with a consideration of underlying philosophical bases in light of a Christian world view. Topics to be surveyed include develop­ ment, cognition , learning, motivation, physiology , socialization, personality and psychopathology.
