7. The Department of Nursing health form must be completed between May and September 1 of each year. 8. The applicant must complete the required prerequisites as outlined in the curriculum guide for the nursing major. Transfer credit for non-nursing courses may be granted of the Office of Admissions and Records as indicated in the college catalog. 9. The R.N. and L.V.N. have individual policy sheets and should consult these. 10. All transfer students must take Conceptual Framework for Nursing . Comparable courses may be evaluated for transfer credit. 11. Following notification of acceptance to the Department of Nursing, the transfer student may begin the challenge process: a. This process consists of teacher-made examinations with theory and clinical components. The theory portion must be passed before the clinical component can be taken. b. A copy of the course objectives, course syllabus and information regarding the format and style of the examination may be obtained from the instructor of the course to be challenged any time following notification of acceptance into the college. c. A transfer student from any program other than a baccalaureate program will be given the opportunity to challenge comparable course. d. Credit will be granted upon successful completion of the challenge process with a minimum grade of C. e. The challenge fee is $50.00 per challenge exam. If a challenge is not completed in one semester, they may have to re-register the following semester and pay an additional $50.00. f. Applicants from other educational programs are evaluated on an individual basis.
