SEPTEMBER JTNZ VOL.III | BAM SOUTH

While Wild Abundance still offers earth skills courses and wildcrafted apothecary classes, its greatest surge of impact has come from an unexpected source: carpentry. “There was a much bigger yearning than we ever could have imagined for women to feel empowered with power tools in their hands,” Gaia says. Today the school runs 12 Women’s Basic Carpentry classes, 4 Advanced Women’s Carpentry classes, and 7 Tiny House in-person workshops each year, plus an online Tiny House program. Many students are women in their 50s to 70s — a demographic Gaia says they didn’t anticipate but have come to cherish. Looking ahead, Wild Abundance will debut its new “Handy Homeowner’s Boot Camp” in 2026 — a 4 ‑ day deep dive into flooring, tiling, drywall, and basic plumbing and electrical — designed to give homeowners the confidence to take on essential projects themselves
