AWT Labels & Packaging , South Elgin, Illinois, in- stalled a new 52-inch, 10-color Miraflex Central Im- pression Cylinder press from Windmoeller & Hoelscher. Packaging Corporation of America (PCA), Lake Forest, Illinois, completed its acquisition of TimBar Corporation, a large independent corrugated prod- ucts producer, in a cash-free, debt-free transaction. Funding for the acquisition came from a new $385 million five-year term loan facility. Yellowstone Plastics , a flexographic packaging producer, inked a contract to purchase a new KBA- Flexotecnica EVO XG 10-color press — its first from the company.The new press is scheduled to arrive at Yellowstone’s facility in Idaho Falls, Idaho, after the first of the year and be operational in early 2017. Amerplast has purchased a Bobst 20SIX CS flexo- graphic printing machine, which will be installed in Tampere, Finland, in April 2017.The 10-color press is equipped with Bobst’s smartGPS setup technology. Graymills Corporation hosted an Open House event to commemorate the company’s move to a new location. After decades of operating out of a fa- cility on the north side of Chicago, Illinois, the com- pany has relocated to a completely updated and refurbished building in Broadview, Illinois. Anderson & Vreeland announced it will distrib- ute the new nyloflex Xpress Thermal Processing Sys- tem for flexographic printing plates from Flint Group Flexographic Products. Clicheria Blumenau , a Brazilian f lexographic repro house, installed the 3000th CDI from Esko.The CDI Spark 5080 f lexo platemaking system with Pixel+ is the fifth Esko CDI for the company. Kendall Packaging announced it would dramati- cally expand its Pittsburg, Kansas, facility, which will see a $10 million, 59,000-square-foot expansion that will double its size. The expansion will make room for a new a 10-color flexographic printing press, a solventless laminator, a slitter and other ancillary equipment, with $6 million allocated to the new equipment. Adcraft Labels , a label, tag and flexible packaging company in Anaheim, California, invested in a Mark Andy Digital Series hybrid press. FlexoOne Inc. , Salt Lake City, Utah, invested in two Nilpeter servo flexo presses. Smurfit Kappa UK , an integrated manufacturer of paper-based packaging products with operations throughout the UK, acquired Saxon Packaging, based in Lowestoft, Norfolk.
