Show organizers had planned to move the event to a three- year cycle, meaning the next edition of the show, would have taken place in 2019. drupa reported that approximately 260,000 visi- tors from 188 countries and about 1,900 journalists from 74 nations travelled to Düsseldorf, Germany, for this year’s drupa show. The show featured 1,837 ex- hibitors from 54 countries. American Packaging Corp. , based in Rochester, NewYork, chose to invest $50 million in a second op- eration in Wisconsin. The company will build a new printing and converting plant in DeForest,Wisconsin, due to start up in 2017. Pamarco , Atlanta, Georgia, worked with Applied Laser Engineering to install a new ALE laser. Pamarco surpassed a milestone for capacity and capability: in excess of 50,000 rolls processed. Rotoflex moved its Canadian regional facility to a new, larger 12,000-square-foot building near Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Flint Group , Plymouth, Michigan, confirmed the acquisition of American Inks and Coatings (AIC) based in Pine Bluff,Arkansas. ARC International , Charlotte, North Carolina, and Technoflex, Inc. of Hiram, Georgia, joined forces as sales agents representing Packaging Plast systems, the mono-blade and totally enclosed dual-blade chambers engineered and manufactured in Casale Monferrato in Northern Italy. Poly Products installed a Flexo Wash FW 2500M anilox roll cleaner at its Regency Park, Adelaide, Aus- tralia, plant. Wegmann Companies (formerly A&D Label), lo- cated near St. Louis, Missouri, added a Bobst narrow web f lexographic printing press to complete its plant upgrade. Grupo Gondi , signed a deal with Bobst and BHS Corrugated for the supply of eleven new production lines.The order will see equipment installed at exist- ing Grupo Gondi facilities in Mexico, as well as at green field sites, over the next two years. The pur- chase includes two complete 2.5m wide corrugators designed by BHS Corrugated, a Bobst pre-print press line, flat-bed Bobst diecutters, and five automated Bobst folding and gluing lines. Advent International , a global private equity in- vestor, agreed to acquire a majority ownership inter- est in Fort Dearborn Co. (FDC), a North American supplier of high-impact prime labels for the con- sumer goods industry, from KRG Capital Partners.
