M.A. in Missions cont. A student must have at least a 2.75 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) to graduate. Students are placed on academic probation if their grade point average for any semester falls below 2.75 ~nd remain on probation as long as the single semester or cumulative grade point average remains below 2. 75_. The p.robation s.tudents are granted one semester in which to bnng their academic work up to the required level (2.75) for continuance in the seminary . A student cannot graduate while on probation.
THE PROGRAM REDUCTION BASED ON PRIOR ACADEMIC STUDY Applicants who have taken undergraduate work in any of the above areas may request a program reduction based on their collegiate studies. An evaluation will be made by the registrar following established guidelines in order to determine competen cy within these perimeters: 1) undergraduate biblical/theological studies which are parallel in content with required courses (up to a maximum of 18 units), 2) undergraduate missions/social science studies which are parallel in content with required courses (up to a maximum of 12 units) and 3) related undergraduate studies which may justify a reduction in elective units. On this basis, the 62 unit program may be reduced by as much as 30 units, so that certain qualified applicants may earn the M.A. with a minimum 32 unit program.
MAJOR REQUIREMENTS THE PROGRAM STRUCTURE
The academic program leading to the degree Master of Arts in Missions is comprised of 62 units structured to include 1) biblical and theological foundations, 2) a core curriculum in the study of missions and 3) electives in missions or social sciences deter mined by the advisor in consultation with the student.
