MIN 820 PASTORAL LEADERSHIP DYNAMICS* Research and evaluation of biblical models and concepts as well as secular psychologies, and their integration for the facilitation of effective pastoral leadership. MIN 821 THE NATURE OF THE CHURCH AND GOALS AND STRATEGIES OF MINISTRY A biblical examination of the nature of the church and the mission of the pastor . A course designed to enable the student to develop a philosophy of the ministry that is biblical, unified, measurable and achievable. Special emphasis on the modes of leadership consistent with the biblical models of the church and pastor combining a respect for and appreciation of past methods and structures while allowing freedom to innovate responsibly and biblically. MIN 822 FAMILY LIFE EDUCATION A course designed to lead the student through a biblical, socio­ logical and educational investigation of family life education. Discovery of common elements of an effective family ministry in the church. Integration of this data with existing resources allows each person to develop a strategy of family life education for his church. MIN 823 FAMILY LIVING FOR ALL SEASONS A course designed to provide the pastor or Christian worker with a developmental approach to family living. Exposure to develop­ mental life changes in persons and how change events in life - such as birth of a child, job change, death of parent - can affect marriage and family. * Applicable to the field of concentration in church leadership. t Applicable to the field of concentration in marriage and family ministries.

A course designed to broaden and deepen the pastoral under­ standing of Christian marriage in the contemporary world. Emph­ asis on the sociology of marriage as an institution, the psychology of intimate relationships, and the nature of love and sexuality. Husband-wife roles studied in the light of Scripture and the movement toward equalitarian marriage. Attention given to the biblical problem of divorce and remarriage. MIN 815 THEOLOGICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS FOR PARENTINGt Development of a theologically consistent and psychologically healthy understanding of the process of child rearing. Includes a critical review, both theologically and psychologically, of a num­ ber of current approaches to parenting. Class members responsi­ ble to 1) formulate a comprehensive program of parent education for a local church, or 2) develop and conduct a parent education seminar or workshop. MIN 816 PERSPECTIVES ON 20th CENTURY EVANGELISM* An exploration of the theology, history and methodology of biblical evangelism with special attention given to contemporary evangelistic strategies and effective principles of individual and corporate witness. The relationship between a biblical ecclesiolo­ gy (relative to philosophy of ministry) and evangelistic effective­ ness explored in depth. MIN 817 BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES OF CHURCH RENEWAL* Examination of biblical principles of church life to help differ­ entiate scriptural absolutes from cultural non-absolutes. A three­ lens approach to provide a methodology for formulating an adequate philosophy of church renewal - the lens of Scripture, the lens of history and the lens of culture.
