Introduction

Kingston University is a leading London University with over 16,000 students and 2,000 staff based across 5 teaching campuses in and around Kingston upon Thames. With 4 successful faculties across a broad range of subjects and annual income of circa £200m the University is continually developing and improving its estate. In this key influential role the Sustainability Manager (Operations) will utilise operational sustainability expertise to enable Directorates and project working groups to deliver the University’s objective of operating efficiently and minimising environmental impact. You will promote sustainable practice and propose opportunities to increase the effectiveness of sustainability integration in all aspects of the University’s operations. You will also lead the University’s Environmental Management System (EMS). The successful candidate will have significant experience of developing and implementing sustainability strategy with a track record of continual improvement. You will have a strong background in developing and implementing strategic sustainability plans, projects and programmes, covering the full spectrum of sustainability services. Experience of effective project and programme management of sustainability projects would be highly advantageous. Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills together with the capability to work in a cross-functional way are required in this role.
