Beyond her corporate role, Ramona is a passionate advocate for the payroll profession. She volunteers as a Payroll Mentor with the Global Payroll Association (GPA), supports the development of future payroll leaders, and frequently contributes to discussions on payroll transformation, leadership, automation, and global best practices. Known for her collaborative leadership style and strategic mindset, Ramona is committed to elevating payroll from an operational function to a trusted business partner that delivers measurable value to organizations worldwide. GPA: How did you move into payroll as a career? Ramona Greenhalgh: I started in various industries managing administration. I worked overseas for a time, and then, when I settled in Germany, I worked in HR. Then one day our payroll specialist fell sick and never returned. My manager told me, “Okay, Ramona, now it’s your turn. You can do it.” But I didn’t have a clue about how to run payroll! Fortunately, I had a colleague who would help, and we both jumped into dealing with paying about 500 hourly workers and about 50
Since July 2025, Ramona has served as Associate Director Payroll at Concentrix, where she leads payroll operations across the DACH region and several additional European countries. She is responsible for payroll strategy, governance, automation, compliance, stakeholder management, and large-scale transformation initiatives designed to modernize payroll delivery and enhance the employee experience. Before joining Concentrix, Ramona held senior payroll leadership positions at Just Eat Takeaway, Adidas, and Groupon. Successfully delivering global payroll transformations, implementing scalable technology solutions, and building high-performing international teams.
